As part of the bat studies, Impact7G performed field scouting, put up mist nets, participated in wing banding and placing radio transmitters on bats northern long-eared bats, and conducted radio telemetry tracking of bats. At the chosen bat netting locations, Impact7G put up mist nets in likely bat flyways. When bats were caught, Impact7G identified the species and the gender. Additionally, if the bat was a female, Impact7G also determined whether the bat was pregnant or had recently given birth.
When a northern long-eared bat was caught, a wing band was attached. During several bat netting events, radio transmitters were attached to northern long-eared bats for radio telemetry tracking purposes. Radio telemetry tracking was done during daylight hours on subsequent days to determine bat roosting locations.
