REFERENCE
The Former Veterans Administration site located in Knoxville, Iowa was first developed in approximately 1892 and remained operational for over a century. The site spans over 160 acres with 44 buildings onsite. The site has sat vacant since 2009. In 2018, plans were initiated to develop the site into a much-needed housing development for the community while encompassing commercial and mixed-use within the area.
In January of 2021, Marion County contracted Impact7G to perform asbestos sampling and inventories, along with hazardous materials inventory of all 44 buildings located on the site. Impact7G compiled all inspection material and compiled into a thorough project design for abatement. Following contracting, Impact7G provided visual inspections and observation services for asbestos abatement, hazardous materials removal, and demolition oversight.
