Impact7G provided a comprehensive assessment of West Branch’s watershed to identify opportunities to implement water quality practices to benefit the West Branch watershed and community. Data collected in the on-site visit of West Branch and geospatial analysis was used to create a watershed that encompassed the City of West Branch. Watershed maps created included maps of land cover, topography, hydric soil presence, slope, run-off, population density, and historic aerial images. Attributes of the watershed found in geospatial analysis and on-site data facilitated in pinpointing areas of opportunity for water quality practices.

Potential water quality practices were presented to the City to prioritize practice opportunities. Findings were given in a comprehensive watershed assessment report to the City of West Branch. The efforts of this project resulted in submission of State Revolving Fund (SRF) project application where the City of West Branch was awarded funds to implement the water quality projects identified in the assessment.
